Last Week, I Presented A Paper On Travel Behavior In Pakistan At 5th International Conference On Women's Issues In Transportation - Bridging The Gap, At CNTI-La Defense, Paris. The 5th WIiT Conference Was Aimed To Identify And Address Issues Specific To Women’s Use And Involvement In The Transportation System And To Ensure That Transportation Systems Meet Women’s Needs. The Conference Focused On Four Pillars: (1) Transport Policy, Transport Patterns and Mobility; (2) Health, Safety and Personal Security; (3) Sustainability; (4) Transportation Impacts on Careers and Careers Impacts on Transportation. My paper, co-authored with my supervisors Professor Anthony Yeh and Dr Zhang Feng, was a part of Pillar 1 and it received the best conference paper award for Pillar 1. The paper provides excellent insights into the travel behavior of Pakistanis, which are generally less discussed due to the non availability of suitable datasets. The paper uses national time use Survey data set to extract travel behavior from 37830 time use diaries of the sample. It is a must read for the urban planners, transportation experts especially those working in Pakistan. The paper, shown below, uses simple language and is easy to read by common persons. Please read it and share it to other researchers, experts, students and those who can read English newspaper. If you find some interesting thing to share on it, please write to me or share your thoughts and opinion on it on social media. Leave a Reply. |
